In case some of your don’t know what I do, it’s called affiliate marketing. Essentially, I make money by promoting other people’s products and/or services. Essentially, I am an online, commission only, sales person. Only I use the “sales” part very loosly.
So, I’ve been asked about what I do so many times, and tried to explain so many times (to no avail), that I’ve decided that I will just do a very top level, basic overview case study of exactly what I do.
I’ll outline the entire process (which won’t be much, trust me), but I WILL make money from it.
In an effort to make the playing field level, and allow everyone to learn from it, I’ve set up some rules.
1. Everything must be no cost
- All marketing efforts and “website development” must be from free sources leaving an easy point of entry for anyone interested in starting out.
2. I will spend as little time on it as possible.
- For me, my time is far more important than money. I’d rather not work 1000 hours a week for a million dollar pay check. To me there is no point in living if you can’t enjoy your time. The object to this case study is to create as passive an income stream as possible, in as little time as possible, utilizing as little resources as possible.
That’s about it. I really want to be able to show people just how simple it really is. So, don’t take the above as me not wanting to try… I just want to show you that even a complete novice to the web could start making money online without any problem.
The Case Study:
So far the steps I’ve taken are:
- Set up a free account at blogger.com
- Written 3 articles
- Developed an affiliate relationship on a CPL (cost per lead) basis with a company within the same niche
